To call the following works “sculptures” is hardly possible without an ironic wink. If their creation contains any artistic merit, this lies in the symbolic view onto the things of nature and the imagination, which is needed to signify with a few cuts or words what the viewer sees in them. So these works should rather be called “windfall sculptures”. - Is that true? Let’s argue about it!
Die folgenden Werke “Skulpturen” zu nennen, ist ohne ironisches Augenzwinkern kaum möglich. Sofern ihre Schöpfung irgendein künstlerisches Verdienst enthält, liegt dieses in der symbolischen Sicht auf die Dinge der Natur und der Phantasie, die der Betrachter braucht, um mit ein paar Schnitten oder Worten das, was er in ihnen sieht, anzudeuten. Also sollten diese Werke eher “Zufallsplastiken” genannt werden. - Ob das so stimmt? Lasst uns darüber streiten!
Elly, das Monster aus der Inneren Rotkohlei, greift gnadenlos an. Herz in Not! Wäre der Rotkohl an anderer Stelle zerschnitten worden, wären die Umtriebe des Monsters niemals entdeckt worden. |

Hart, aber gerecht: die Zinke | Severe, but fair: the Prong

Die Zinke ist ein Holzschlangenweibchen und war ursprünglich als Mittel der Züchtigung von minderjährigen Schwägern konzipiert. Wegen dieses unethischen Zwecks musste sie sich ihr Leben lang von Staub ernähren. Ihre gute Laune hat sie trotzdem nie verloren. |
The Prong is a wooden she-snake and was originally conceived as a means of chastisement of underage brothers-in-law. Because of this unethical purpose, she had to feed on dust all her life. Nevertheless, she never lost her good mood.
